Quilting talent on display Friday and Saturday

PREVIEW: Debby McCullough’s “Crater Lake National Park, Oregon” takes top honors at “Stars Over The Pamlico,” the Pamlico River Quilters’ Guild annual quilt show. The show opens today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Washington Civic Center and tomorrow, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and will feature quilting demonstrations and display of the “Stitching NC: The 100 Counties Quilt Project,” a 9-by-18-foot quilt that pieces together blocks made by one quilter from each county in the state. Admission is $5 for the show and proceeds will be donated to Hurricane Florence relief and recovery.
