The Beaufort County Community College Foundation is proud to announce the following scholarship recipients. The BCCC Foundation anticipates awarding $150,000 in scholarships during the 2018-19 academic year. Jamie Davenport, 18, received the Robert C. Page Scholarship. She is part of the nursing program, and attended Farmville Central High School. The Farmville resident plans to work as a nurse practitioner. She is the daughter of Bob and Caroline Davenport.

Harrison Gurganus, 18, received the State Employees Credit Union Scholarship. The son of Lori and Jeffery Gurganus, he currently works as a produce associate at Food Lion. The Pinetown resident attended Northside High School and is part of the welding technology program.

Jacob Hering, 31, received the David Clark Scholarship. Hering is the son of Brooks and Jamie Patti of Washington. He is part of the electrical engineering technology program, and he attended Memorial High School. The Washington resident plans to obtain an electrical job and currently works at Domtar as and electrical and instrumentation intern. He holds a degree in business administration from Minnesota State College Southeast.

Cailey Kirk, 22, received the Tayloe’s Hospital Pharmacy Scholarship. Kirk is the daughter of Anneda and Jeffrey Kirk. She is part of the Associate Degree in Nursing program, and she attended Northside High School. The Washington resident currently works as a certified nurse aide and phlebotomist at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

Grace Lassiter, 18, received the Bobby Andrews and the Lucy Burgess Scholarships. She is the daughter of Renee Asby and Billy Lassiter. The Washington resident attended Washington High School. Lassiter is a nursing student and currently works as a server at Ribeyes and a cashier at Food Lion.

Jessica Price, 31, received the Linda L. Penrod and the Tayloe’s Hospital Pharmacy Scholarships. She is part of the nursing program, and attended Jamesville High School. The Pitt County resident plans to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and she recently worked in the intensive care unit at Vidant Medical Center. She is certified as a nurse aide II.

Aubrey Shiver, 25, received the Tayloe’s Hospital Pharmacy Scholarship. Shiver is the daughter of Ted Fitzgerald of Camilla, Ga. and Wanda Hughes of Columbia, S.C, the wife of Lewis Shiver and a mother of one. The New Bern resident is part of the Associate Degree in Nursing program, and she attended Baconton Charter School. She currently works as a phlebotomist at CCHC Twin Rivers Family Practice and plans to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing so she can work in neonatal intensive care.

Brianna Waters, 19, received the State Employees Credit Union and the BCCC Foundation Scholarships. Waters is part of the business administration program. The daughter of Ronnie and Christie Waters, the Plymouth resident hopes to transfer to East Carolina University. Waters attended Roch Academy and currently works at McDonalds.
