Business owners and the general public alike stand to find valuable information and new business connections on Tuesday, as the Washington-Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce and the Beaufort County Community College Small Business Center host their annual Business Expo at BCCC.
Bringing together more than 25 local businesses representing a variety of industries, the expo offers chances for networking, free seminars and opportunities to better familiarize oneself with the Beaufort County Business community.
“They’ll be there and have information about each of their businesses, promoting what they do and giving out information on what they do,” WBCCC Director Catherine Glover said.
There will also be flu shots provided during the event from Tayloe’s Hospital Pharmacy, with most insurance plans accepted. Cost for shots with no insurance is $35. Chamber members are also invited to enjoy a free lunch from 11 a.m. to noon during the expo. Those planning to attend should call 252-946-9168 or email crystal@wbcchamber.com.
The following free seminars will be offered during the expo:
Noon to 1 p.m. — QR Codes and Your Business, presented by Holly Harrison
1 p.m. to 2 p.m. — Legal tips 101, presented by Will Mayo
2 p.m. to 3 p.m. — Hurricane Florence Disaster Q&A, presented by the Small Business and Technology Development Center
The seminars are hosted by the SBC, and are available free of charge. To pre register, call 252-940-6375 or email continuingeducation@beaufortccc.edu.
“During the business expo, we feel like its important to offer workshops that are relevant to the times,” Glover said. “We’ve got the QR codes, which people are still using and then legal tips have always been a big hit. The Hurricane Florence Q&A, we thought would be a timely thing from the SBTDC.”
The expo is free and open to the public and space is still available for businesses interested in setting up a table during the expo. The event will be held in Building 10 on the campus of BCCC. For more information on securing a space, call the Chamber at 252-946-9168.
“We encourage anybody to come,” Glover said. “There’s always something for everyone there.”
