Mrs. Lorraine Marie Potter Yates, 64, of 356 Lake Road, Hertford, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, in Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City.
A graveside service will be conducted today at 1 p.m. in Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield, with the Rev. Valerie Ballance officiating.
Mrs. Yates was born in the Leechville community of Beaufort County, the daughter of the late Seth Ceymore Potter and Gaybelle Marie Franks Potter. She was married to Robert G. Yates, who preceded her in death. She worked as an environmental clerk with the Chesapeake, Va., Health Department.
Survivors include one son, Bernie Taylor of Chesapeake, Va.; two daughters, Sharon Cooper of Hertford and Suzanne Valeah Taylor Wisheart of Moyock; five sisters and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Arrangements are by Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter.
