RECOGNIZING HEROES: Honoring local heroes was the theme of a special luncheon held at First Bank on Friday. Recognizing local first responders, linemen and others who answer the call to serve their community, the luncheon also served as an opportunity for the bank to thank customers and potential customers for their business. Featuring barbecue prepared by Ed Booth and Donald Sadler, the meal was well attended. The bank also recognized another group of local heroes on Friday, donating a $2,500 beverage display to Carryout by Chrislyn. Below, Chrislyn Wedderien accepts a the donation from Taylor. Since Hurricane Florence hit, the restaurant has donated 12,281 meals to those impacted by that storm and Hurricane Michael.
