Students receive scholarships through BCCC Foundation

The Beaufort County Community College Foundation is proud to announce the following scholarship recipients. The BCCC Foundation anticipates awarding $150,000 in scholarships during the 2018-2019 academic year.
McKenzie Drew, 17, received the Hampton Roads Community Foundation Scholarship. She is part of the nursing program and the Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses (RIBN) program. The daughter of Beverly and Mike Drew of Williamston, she attended Riverside High School. The Williamston resident currently works as an assistant teacher at Memorial Baptist Preschool.
Kayla Etchison Anderson, 26, received the Tayloe’s Hospital Pharmacy Scholarship. The Washington resident is part of the nursing program and plans to get work as a registered nurse at Vidant Beaufort Hospital. The daughter of Kathy and Steven Etchison of Washington, and wife of Matt Anderson, she attended Washington High School. She holds an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Office Administration and an Associate in General Education. Anderson currently works at Vidant Beaufort Hospital as an education instructor.
Alyssa Manning, 20, received the Louise Terry Scholarship. The Williamston resident is working toward an Associate in Applied Science in Business Administration. The son of Rick and Karmen Manning of Bear Grass, she attended Bear Grass Charter School. Manning plans to work at Beaufort County Community College.
Alexis Price, 20, received the Kimberly Teeter Scholarship. The Greenville resident is working toward an Associate Degree in Nursing and plans to transfer to East Carolina University to attain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, after which she plans to become a certified nurse midwife. The daughter of Annette and David Price of Williamston, she attended Riverside High School.
Dylan Sawyer, 18, received the Louise R. Lester Foundation Scholarship. The Plymouth resident is working toward an Associate in Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Technology. The son of Keith and Brenda Sawyer of Washington, he attended Creswell High School. Sawyer plans to become an independent electrician and currently works at East Carolina Supply.
Lauren Taylor, 19, received the Thomas E. Minges Memorial/Pepsi-Cola Scholarship. She is part of the nursing program and the Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses (RIBN) program. The daughter of Paige and Keith Taylor of Williamston, she attended Riverside High School. The Williamston resident plans to work either as an operation room or neo-natal intensive care nurse.
Landen “Zane” Woolard, 19, received the David Clark Endowment Scholarship. The Washington resident is working toward an Associate in Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology. The son of Murphy and Kim Woolard of Washington, he attended Washington High School.
Meredith Woolard, 18, received the Red Cross Scholarship. The Chocowinity resident is working toward an Associate of Arts and Science and plans to transfer to a four-year insitution. The daughter of Ashley and Wendy Woolard of Chocowinity, she attended Unity Christian Academy. She currently works in the Unity Christian Academy Summer Program and as a cashier at Southern Grace Boutique.
