Larry Rudolph “Beanzie” Kelly

Mr. Larry Rudolph “Beanzie” Kelly, age 72, a resident of Foreman Lane, Belhaven, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2018, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at Smithton Baptist Church, Seed Tick Neck Road, Belhaven, conducted by Rev. Walter Taylor. Burial will follow in Ryder Hill Cemetery at Pamlico Beach.
Mr. Kelly was born in Beaufort County on Feb. 4, 1946. He was the son of the late James Denton Kelly and Bessie Modlin Kelly. Mr. Kelly graduated from Pantego High School and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a truck driver for Shavender Trucking and later was a heavy equipment operator at PCS. He was a proud member of the N.R.A. Mr. Kelly was a member Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church and had attended Free Union Free Will Baptist Church and Smithton Baptist Church.
On Dec. 6, 1984, Mr. Kelly married the former Elizabeth “Claudette” Furman, who preceded him in death, Nov. 19, 2013.
Mr. Kelly is survived by his sister, Faye Kelly Shavender, of Greenville, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Kelly was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Kelly, Kenneth Kelly and Melborn Kelly.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018, at Paul Funeral Home in Belhaven.
