Carolyn B. Cutrell

Carolyn Blake Cutrell, 91, of Fairfield, died, Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 at Cross Creek Health Care Center, Swan Quarter.

Born in Hyde County, Sept. 9, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Ruffin and Jennie Mae Cutrell Blake. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell Earl Cutrell.

She was a member of the Fairfield Christian Church, a member of the Women’s Book Club. She enjoyed fishing, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, birdwatching, especially martins and was a gifted mason and woodworker.

Funeral services and committal will be held at the Fairfield Christian Church at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018. Billy Ray Askew will officiate. Private burial will follow at the family plot in Fairfield Cemetery.

Surviving is a son, Stevie Cutrell and wife, Vicky; a daughter, Mary Tonda Cutrell both of Fairfield; three grandchildren, Stephanie C. Marshall and husband, Chad, Brandon Cutrell and wife, Crystal and Blake Cutrell and wife, Natalie; eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Nell Cox of Engelhard, Mrs. Kathy Spencer and Mrs. Marion Hope Dough both of Manteo.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Barrington and a sister, Selma Watson.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Service, 119 Main Street, Swan Quarter, NC.
