OLIVER HOLLEY, Tyrrell Schools superintendent, on Feb. 5 asked the board of commissioners to pass a resolution calling on the state for local flexibility in setting school calendars so the school board can meet the preferences of families, educators and businesses in Tyrrell County. The measure passed unanimously.
