Mrs. Geraldine Woolard Stewart, age 90, a resident of U.S. Highway 17 North, Washington, died Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at her home.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, conducted by Dr. Skipper McLawhorn.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home of her daughter, Kim Modlin, at 3117 U.S. 17 North, Washington.
Mrs. Stewart was born in Beaufort County on Aug. 27, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Gotha Wilkins Woolard and Laura Hodges Woolard. Mrs. Stewart was a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star, where she served many stations over the years. Mrs. Stewart was a member of Proctor Memorial Christian Church in Grimesland. In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting tea pots, travelling and cooking and delivering warm lemon pound cakes all around town.
Mrs. Stewart was married to A. T. Stewart, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Kim Modlin and partner Herbert Conner, of the home; granddaughter, Kaila Modlin and fiancé Matt Boyd, of Washington; grandsons, Chris Modlin and wife Sarah, of Washington, Derek Stewart, of Washington, Grant Stewart, of Garner; and great-granddaughter, Shelby Stewart, of Chocowinity.
In addition to her parents, siblings and her husband, Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by a son, Billy Stewart, and grandson, Shane Stewart.
