A loved servant of our Lord and Savior has been given wings Wednesday, March 21, 2019. Mrs. Caredwyn (Carrie) Mitchell Harding, 77, of 156 CCC #1 Road, was born in Washington County on Feb. 23, 1942, to the late Lynal Gordon Mitchell and Eva Lilley Mitchell.
She is survived by her children, Kathy and David Jones, of Core Point, Patricia Harding and Thomas Settle, of Chocowinity, James Harding, Jr. and Bernie, of Washington, Ricky and Lila Harding, of Blounts Creek, and Larry Harding, of the home; her siblings, James Mitchell, of Chocowinity, Dennis Mitchell and Carol, of Vanceboro, and Melvin and Angie Mitchell, of Grantsboro; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She has followed her longtime husband, James Harding, Sr., and her sisters, Eva Mae Golden and Rosa Mitchell, and her grandsons, Keith and Cory Anderson.
She was a rare person who enjoyed working hard. She dedicated many years to Singer Furniture Co. and, after retiring, spent many years delivering the local newspaper.
Pallbearers are Britt Mitchell, Jimmy Whealton, Ed Smith, Jamie McKibben, John Gettys and Thomas Settle. Honorary pallbearers are Jason Banks and Kelly Anderson.
Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2019, at Edwards Cemetery on Possum Track Road, Chocowinity.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
