Mr. George Andrew Roberson, Jr., age 82, a resident of 113 Leigh Drive, Magnolia Shores, Washington, died Thursday, March 28, 2019, at his home.
A funeral service will be held 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2019, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by Dr. Robert Cayton. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery, Washington.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Todd Roberson, Raybon Harris, Nikolas Roberson, Jamie Tkach, Blake Daniel and Larry Woolard.
Mr. Roberson was born in Martin County on Dec. 9, 1936. He was the son of the late George Andrew Roberson, Sr. and Daisy Lamb Roberson. He was a retired building contractor who enjoyed doing custom woodworking projects. He retired from the Beaufort County Schools. Mr. Roberson was a former member of the Jaycees and the Dorean Anglers Club at Hatteras. He was a member and past deacon of the First Christian Church.
Mr. Roberson enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons when they were younger. He enjoyed father and son weekends going to Washington, D.C., to watch the Redskins play football. Mr. Roberson also enjoyed taking trips to the ocean and the mountains. As an animal lover, he loved dogs and cats.
On April 25, 1959, Mr. Roberson married the former Lois Ann Briley, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are two sons, George Andrew “Drew” Roberson III and his wife, Bessie Marie Roberson, of Washington, Todd Roberson and his wife, Kim Daniel Roberson, of Washington; five grandchildren, Sara GeorgeAnna Roberson, George Andrew Roberson IV, Rachel Roberson, Olivia Roberson, Nikolas Roberson; great-grandson, Jaden Roberson; sister, Nancy Roberson Hill; two nieces, Susan Watts and her husband, Norbert, Inda Hill; great-niece, Inda Marie Moore; and great nephew, Jamie Tkach.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
