Mrs. Jeannette Ruth Willis Duncan, age 73, a resident of 305 Smaw Road, Washington, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Vidant Medical Center.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Bath Christian Church and will be conducted by Pastor Jim Cullen. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Gerald Masten, Roger Brooks, Cole Duncan, Derick Cordon, Bob Cordon and Buddy Daw will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Duncan was born in Davidson County, Tennessee, on Aug. 9, 1945, to the late Joe and Margaret Cole Willis. She attended Isaac Litton High School in Nashville, Tennessee, and was a member of the Marching Band 100+. Growing up in the First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, Tennessee, she was a Christian who was very involved, including being a member of the choir. She retired after many years as a state employee, was a seamstress, Cub Scout leader and enjoyed crafts and painting. Mrs. Duncan was a member of Bath Christian Church.

Mrs. Duncan was married to Gary Neil Duncan, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, David Neil Duncan, of the home; three grandchildren, Cole Duncan and friend Jaclyn Cullipher, Shelley Marie Duncan and friend Miciah Butler Masters, Macie Oesterreich and friend Christopher Day; great-granddaughter, Annabelle Oesterreich; one brother, Bob Willis and wife Cindy, of Nashville, Tennessee; two sisters, Rita Roberson, Margaret Davis, both of Nashville, Tennessee, and lifelong friend, Joyce Campbell Keen, of Knoxville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Thomas and Macie Etheridge Cole; a brother, Joe Thomas Willis; and daughters, Carol J. Duncan and Christine Alice Duncan.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2019, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
