Robin “Reid” Moore, Jr.

Mr. Robin “Reid” Moore, Jr., age 69, a resident of 406 Crown Drive, Washington, died Friday, April 26, 2019, at Vidant Medical Center, Greenville.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2019, from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, conducted by S. Ray West. Burial with military honors will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

The following will serve as pallbearers: Neil Woolard, William Woolard, Donnie Woolard, Dr. Joel Moore, Jr., Joseph Moore, Jordan Moore and Ross Moore.

Mr. Moore was born in Beaufort County on July 8, 1949. He was the son of the late Robin Reid Moore, Sr. and Arthur Lee Hardee Moore. Mr. Moore was a graduate of Washington High School and Beaufort Community College. Mr. Moore served his country in the U.S. Army from 1970-1972 during the Vietnam War. He was the former owner and operator of Moore’s Ford Mercury and Moore’s Auto World until retirement in 2010. Mr. Moore enjoyed duck and deer hunting with his family and friends. He served as past treasurer and a member of the Southern Dismal Wildlife Club. He loved golf and boating during his membership at the Washington Yacht and Country Club. He played many years of organized baseball and softball. He adored his grandchildren and followed them from ball fields to dance recitals. Mr. Moore was a member of Wanoca Presbyterian Church as a youth and later attended First Church of Christ in Washington.

On June 23, 1968, Mr. Moore married the former Connie O’Carroll, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Kimberly D. Moore “Kim”, Robin Reid Moore lll “Robbie” and wife Molly, Rodney B. Moore and wife, Susan all of Washington NC. Mr. Moore has 7 grandchildren: Joseph Moore, Jordan Moore and wife Cheyenne, Meghan Moore, Carson Moore, Anna Reid Moore, Ross Moore, Ainsley Moore and one great grandchild, Easton Moore. In addition, Mr. Moore is survived by 2 brothers and one sister; Joel Moore and wife Glenda, Phil Moore, and Donna Moore. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Moore and an infant sister, Carolyn Arthur Moore.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, April 29, 2019 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at his home.
