From First United Methodist Church

First United Methodist Church will host its annual Friends of Missions Antique and Yard sale this weekend on Friday and Saturday, with proceeds supporting the church’s missionary efforts at home and abroad.

From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, patrons can pay a $15 admission to get first opportunity to purchase antiques, treasures, furniture, tools, glassware, collectibles and much more.
We started the early bird access two years ago and it has become a very popular event. You get VIP early Bird Access to all the items for sale on the day before the regular sale for a $15 donation.

All proceeds go towards Missions of the church. On Saturday the sale is a regular yard sale and free to enter for everyone. We hope that those that come and like items will talk with one of our volunteers as they have the ability to negotiate the price with you. We want to sell all that we have so come on out and tell us what you like and we will make the price right so you can go home with the treasures and we can use the funds to support missions.

Our Missions team is quite active and has been encouraging our church to bring donations to the church for weeks. Thanks to Rutledge Mini Storage, we have been able to house those treasures in a storage unit waiting for the sale date.

Some of the unique items this year include an early-1950’s Struco pressed steel fire truck toy, as well as an elegant baby buggy. Other items include wrought iron furniture, several wheel barrels, ladders, furniture, collectibles and on and on.

All the proceeds go to missions and we appreciate the donations from First United Methodist Church to make this happen and the support of the community that buys these treasures. Because of the sale, we can support missions throughout the community and the world as we support local homeless shelters and food banks and provide support to a school in Haiti.
