Three departments respond to Washington house fire

HOUSE FIRE: On Tuesday evening, the Washington Fire Department, aided by Chocowinity Volunteer Fire Department and Bunyan Volunteer Fire Department, responded to a house fire on Bonner Street near the intersection of MLK Drive. According to Washington Fire Department Battalion Chief Doug Bissette, the house was occupied at the time of the fire, but all occupants were able to escape with no injuries. The fire was contained to the attic area of the house, and the cause was undetermined as of Wednesday evening. Broad Creek EMS also responded to the fire.
