The Saturday Night Jamboree held its 47^th-annual Spring Prom recently at the Redmen’s Lodge in Washington.

Registrar Carolyn Jefferson& Kathy Scrape signed in 145 clients while faithful volunteers Tillie Braddy and Kathy Lilley pinned on corsages and boutonnieres with loving assistance from Joyce Carawan.

The Lodge was transformed into a wonderful flower garden earlier in the day by Michael Cutler, Kathy Lilley, Elwood and Marlene Sprouse, and Jim and Tine Sadler. The Jamboree would like to thank The Shalom House for all the wonderful, beautiful ferns they sent. The prom would not have looked so festive without them.

Jamboree President Marlene Sprouse led the activities, while photographer Michael Cutler and Kathy Ammons, with assistance from James and Tine Sadler, Kim and Frankie Walker, took photographs of each client in front of a beautiful display. The photos were printed and passed out by Carey Pair and Corey, Kenny Beacham and Elwood at the Jamboree meeting.

A special “Thank you” to The Little Creek Band (including band members Lynard Thurman, Tommy Keech, William Barr, Duke Chandler and Barney Conway) who provided music for the prom.

A special “Thank you” to Kathy Ammons for taking the prom pictures — you did a great job!

Following a blessing asked by Joseph Coward, members of Warren Chapel United Methodist Church from Blount’s Creek prepared and served canned drinks and bagged refreshments. Those helping with serving included Rev. Betty Jo Rodgers, Jonell Barber, Keith and Donna Nipple, Ernest Cutler, Jesse and Juanita Tripp, Gilbert and Linda Tripp, Maria and Carl Dunn, Carla Berg, Grace Broome, guest, and “sissy” Dunn.
