Pets of the Week, June 8, 2019

Published 12:50 pm Sunday, June 9, 2019

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs and ENC Shelter Cats on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.

Melanie

Friendly, loving, gentle and easygoing, Melanie likes people and their attention. This large, 1 year old is a Labrador retriever mix, and she’s gorgeous in her shorthair, shiny black coat. Melanie will do best with loving, attentive owner(s) who will give her plenty of exercise/play — preferably in a fenced area or on a leash — take her with them on their outings, give obedience training and, of course, a good forever home. Come meet this personable girl — Melanie’s ID is No. 0696. She’s available at the shelter.

Chance

This handsome and friendly fellow is already neutered and ready to go, after his reduced fee is paid. Chance, an American shorthair tabby, wears a coat of silver with darker gray stripes and cream accents. At 11 months old, he’s a lover boy who loves being petted and showered with attention. Chance is a truly remarkable cat, and he will be a welcome addition in a good, loving forever home. Come meet Chance, ID No. 0697 — you’ll be glad you did. He is available at the shelter.
