Vincent Blair Berry

Vincent Blair Berry, 59, of Fairfield died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at his residence.

Born in Beaufort County, March 18, 1960, he was the son of the late J.B. and Pauline Moore Berry.

Vincent was a past Master Mason with the former Fairfield Masonic Lodge #520 AF & AM, a current member of the Atlantic Lodge #294 AF & AM and a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He loved hunting, riding his motorcycle and Civil War history.

He was a quiet soul who was loved by many and enjoyed farming. His professional career was spent as a Sergeant with the Hyde County Correctional Institute.

A funeral service will be held at the gravesite at 10 a.m., Friday, July 12, 2019, at the family plot in Fairfield Cemetery.

Surviving are two daughters, Katherine Berry-Dixon and wife Christina, Rainy Berry, both of Washington; a son, Vincent B. Berry, II, of Durham; four grandchildren, Ethan Bowen, Alexander Berry, Kaiden Dixon and Phallen Berry; a brother, Jerol Berry and wife Alisa, of Fairfield; two sisters, Lillian Berry and Beth Berry, both of Greenville.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
