James Edward Kibler

James Edward Kibler, age 72, departed this life Monday, July 15, 2019, and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mr. Kibler has resided in Washington since October 2016. He formerly lived in Fleming Island, Florida. He is the husband of Judy Carol Smith Kibler with whom he has shared 36 years of marriage.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on Oct. 11, 1946, Jim was the son of the late Edward Grande Kibler and Margaret Wessel Kibler. He graduated from Towson High School in Towson, Maryland. Jim served in the U.S. Navy. He completed an apprenticeship with the Department of the Navy and retired as an aircraft electrician. He was a past member of the Barber Shop Harmony Association and loved music. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Washington and a former member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida.

Surviving with his wife are a son, Andrew James Bowers, of Grand Junction, Colorado, and cousins.

Jim was a loving, devoted husband who loved life, his wife, his son, and Jesus. His life was characterized by thankfulness and appreciation.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2019, at the First Baptist Church in Washington, conducted by Dr. Greg Barmer. Burial with military honors will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour Friday at the church.
