The 15th annual JR Simmons Memorial 4-Wheelin’ Rally will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, sponsored by Tyrrell Volunteer Fire Department Inc.

“Get those machines ready for some fun,” says Joie Spencer, publicity director. “Come feeling clean and leave feeling dirty!”

Entry fee is $25 for each ATV, UTV or dirt bike; $10 for each additional rider.

Entry deadline is Sept. 16, and entry forms received after that date will be subject to a $5 late fee for each rider.

Riders aged 16 and under must be accompanied by a  guardian.

A DOT-approved helmet is required for all ATV or dirt bike riders. Goggles are highly, highly recommended, Spencer urges.

Lunch will be provided for all participants.

The meeting point is TVFD’s Frying Pan substation approximately six miles south of Columbia on N.C. Hwy 94.

Participants must be in line and ready to ride at 10:30 a.m. “No late comers, please!” Spencer said, “and no alcoholic beverages will be allowed.”

Questions may be directed to Chief Johnny Spencer at 252-394-5287 or Trey Liverman at 252-916-4486.

To obtain registration forms visit www.visittyrrellcountync.com and click on Calendar of Events; or go to the TVFD Facebook page and print the form.

All proceeds from this event will go to Tyrrell Volunteer Fire Department Inc., a not-for-profit corporation that supplies contracted fire prevention and suppression services from its main station in Columbia and five rural substations throughout Tyrrell County.
