Clay Hansen Evans, 31, of 434 Creekside Drive, Swan Quarter, died Saturday, July 9, 2011, at Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville.

Born in Beaufort County on Dec. 8, 1979, he was the son of Martin and Carol Wolfe Evans.

Precious and beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Clay never knew a stranger, his heart was as big as the world, he believed in living life to the fullest and he will be missed more than words can say.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Providence United Methodist Church with Steve Bryan officiating.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two brothers William Martin “Marty” Evans Jr. and wife Kristin of Ayden, and Dane Evans of Swan Quarter; a nephew Jackson W. Evans; and a niece Lainy M. Evans; paternal grandmother Mrs. Lucille Evans of Belhaven.

He was preceded in death by a brother Ryan Wolfe Evans; maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Henry W. Wolfe and paternal grandfather Mr. Thurman Evans.

The family will receive friends at Bryan Funeral Service from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight and other times at the home.
