A stellar line up of musicians and bands are donating their time and talent to raise funds for artists and cultural efforts on Ocracoke to help them recover from Hurricane Dorian. Music across the Sound comes to the Turnage from 7 to 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 16.

Donations are to be made out to Ocracoke Alive, led by David Tweeide of Ocracoke Island to benefit working artists living on Ocracoke Island. The theatre space, musical performances, tickets, technical support and emcee duties are being donated.

Washington locals Jay Costello will emcee the event, which includes performances from Blount’s Creek Blues Boys, Steve Creech Jazz Band, Squier Red, Wayne Stoeckert & Company, Chuck Phillips and more. Ocracoke bands, including Molasses Creek, will join in the concert to close the evening.

Doors open at 6 p.m. with music in the gallery. Music will be performed on stage and in the Turnage gallery during intermission.

Beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be sold. Local restaurants donating sample appetizers include Grub Brothers, Carryout by Chrislyn and Ribeyes. Other eating establishments are welcome to contribute to this collective effort to raise funds for working artists living on Ocracoke Island.

Tickets are $20 with a cash discount or $21 plus tax online with a credit card. Tickets sales will be donated to Ocracoke Alive. Tickets are limited. Tickets purchased online will be held at will call at the Historic Turnage Theatre.
