On Monday, the Pitt County Republican Party Executive Committee voted to fill the vacant seat of now-Congressman Dr. Greg Murphy with Dr. Perrin Jones.

“Congratulations to Dr. Perrin Jones on his election,” stated NC Republican Party Chairman Michael Whatley. “We are very confident that he will be able to step into this position and quickly become a leader for eastern North Carolina as the Representative for the 9th House District.”

A Charlotte native, Jones graduated from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill before making his way to Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University. Jones completed his anesthesiology residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center before going to work for the East Carolina Anesthesia Associates in 2003. Dr. Jones is a past president of the North Carolina Society of Anesthesiologists. He met his wife during his first year of medical school and they live in Greenville with their three children.
