Jerry W. Stroh

Rev. Jerry W. Stroh, of 707 N. Brown St., Washington, passed away at Vidant Beaufort Hospital on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2019. He was born in Angola, Indiana, on June 2, 1951, to the late Wayne and Verba Stroh.

He married Vicky Johnson on June 25, 1975, in South Bend, Indiana.

In 1985, he moved to Washington where he became the pastor of the New Life Pentecostal Church. He loved this town and when asked about moving back to Indiana, said that he was called here and he would die here — which he did.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kay Bruan.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Vicky Stroh; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette Dyer (Scott), Darlene Waits (Donny); two brothers-in-law, David Braun and Rob Johnson (Keri); numerous very much loved nieces and nephews; and one who has been like a daughter, Crystal Mann (Lavel), and two grandchildren Trevan and Tressa, who made him laugh all the time.

Services will be held Monday, Dec. 9, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Washington Assembly of God, 2029 W. Fifth St. Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. Rev. Wayne Huntley and Rev. Lark Lewis will officiate. Burial will be announced at the funeral.
