Four Pam Pack players reached double figures as Washington picks up its second consecutive win with a 83-43 victory over the North Pitt Panthers on Tuesday evening.

The Pam Pack got it done on both ends of the floor. Suffocating defense turned into transition baskets, and the Washington offense scored at will for most of the evening.

Kash Godley’s defensive effort was a big reason the Pam Pack built a large cushion in the first half, according to head coach David Allewalt.

“I thought Kash played a really, really good defensive game tonight. We got 13 steals in the first half, went to the free throw line 18 times, but Kash played really hard on the defensive end. It allowed us to get into transition and get some easy buckets,” Allewalt said.

Godley was responsible for four of those in the first half and it set the tone for the rest of the evening.

“Our full-court press (was working). We have been practicing at it and trying to get it to it’s tip-top form so we can execute it properly every game,” Godley said after the 40-point victory. “We just have to continue playing with the same energy and execute offensively and defensively like we did tonight.”

Junior guard Omarion Blount stole the show against the Panthers, putting up 27 points with a couple of 3-pointers and a one-hand slam in the second half.

The Pam Pack played a complete four quarters of basketball, and continued to play at a high level despite what the scoreboard read.

Senior guard Rashod Smith scored 20 points to extend his streak of scoring 20-plus points to seven games.

Jamauri Bryant returned to the court from injury and produced 11 points, Messiah Ebron added 10, and Justin Powell tallied eight with another night of grabbing 10-plus rebounds.

Allewalt was very pleased with his team’s effort tonight after being disappointed in the way they played against Ayden-Grifton.

“We challenged ourselves tonight. After that game that came up after the break and started sluggish, we wanted to stretch the floor tonight and not think about things so much. We tried to hone in on this press that we’re going to try and run a lot more of going forward,” Allewalt said. “I challenged their intensity level. If we can play a full 32-minute game, I think our confidence will grow as a team.”
