Mrs. Frances Marie Alligood Boyd, age 70, a resident of Pinetown. died Saturday, March 14, 2020, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital in Washington.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Athens Chapel Church of Christ, officiated by Chris Hux. Burial will follow in the Boyd family cemetery at the home. Alan and Brandon Hosey, Brandon Hosey, Stephen Andreoli, Nicky Hopkins, Harris White and Warren Blackstock will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Boyd and Walt Wallace.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.
Mrs. Frances was born in Beaufort County on March 31, 1949, daughter of the late Harley Ray Alligood Sr. and the late Margaret Lee Toler Alligood. She attended Washington High School and earned her GED from Beaufort County Community College.
On April 17, 1965, she married Wade Harold Boyd who preceded her in death on Nov. 23, 2017. Mrs. Frances was co-owner/ co-operator of Boyd’s Automotive, a floral designer for several area florists, a bus driver for Terra Ceia Christian School and a caregiver to the elderly and the sick. She dedicated most of her time to her family by being a homemaker, loving wife and dedicated mother for her family and loved her church family at Athens Chapel Church of Christ.
Survivors include her children, Terry Hosey Wallace (Andy), of Washington, Joseph “Joe” Boyd (Tiffany), of Pantego, and Kevin Wade Boyd (Crystal), of Pinetown; a brother, Darrell Lee Alligood Sr., of Washington; sisters, Catherine Yontz, Donna Alligood and Joyce Alligood, all of Washington, and Lois Blackstock, of Chocowinity; grandchildren, Walt Wallace, Daniel Craft, Alan Hosey (Katie), Brandon Hosey (Nicky), Chelsea Boyd Everett (Kevin), Bailee Linton and Jacob Boyd; and great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Brianna, Ava and Wade Hosey and Rachel Everett. She was anxiously awaiting the birth of a great-grandchild, Delilah. Mrs. Frances was preceded in death, along with her parents and husband, by two brothers, Hardy and Dalton Alligood.
Flowers are welcome and appreciated and the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Cure SMA, 925 Busse Rd. Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.
