Due to the current COVID-19 projections, the Aurora Fossil Museum Foundation, Inc. has decided that it is best to cancel the Aurora Fossil Festivals scheduled for May 22-24 .
Our decision is a difficult one and many factors were considered. Canceling the 2020 Aurora Fossil Festival will have a significant financial impact on the museum as this event was developing into being our largest annual fundraiser.
Currently, we are shifting our focus on expanding our National Park Service’s National Fossil Day Celebration which will be held at the museum on October 24. We are also planning on making the 2021 Aurora Fossil Festival (May 28-30) the best one ever!
In the meantime, the Aurora Fossil Museum (a publicly funded nonprofit) will also be working hard to raise needed funds to keep our staff engaged with various behind the scenes tasks while we are closed to the public.
If you can support us by making a monetary donation through the PayPal Giving Fund https://www.paypal.com/fundraiser/charity/1278368 or by purchasing items through our online Gift Shop https://www.aurorafossilmuseumstore.com/ we would greatly appreciate it.
Every bit helps and it all adds up.
