To the Editor:
I witnessed firsthand yesterday the “senior mentality” of being the first through the door during Walmart’s senior shopping hour from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. The crowd gathered from 5:45 outside the doors from a few persons to well over 40. All huddled together, without even close to the warranted six-foot separation.
Then the doors opened for the “lion feeding.” The rush through the doors was hysterical. Shoulder-to-shoulder, rushing to get the last roll of toilet paper. What are these people thinking? It was like Black Friday rushing to get a deal. The entire reason for the early shopping is not to be intermingled with the throngs of shoppers, right?
I waited a good 15 or so more minutes before I even ventured out of my car.
Thank you, Walmart … shame on you, elders!
