VOLUNTEER SERVICES: Despite the COVID-19 virus, the Washington (noon) Rotary Club continues to conduct weekly “virtual meetings” featuring a number of guest speakers including Bill Tobin, who currently serves as ShelterBox USA’s Rotary Relations Manager. The El Dorado, California, native explained to the club how ShelterBox USA continues to provide lifesaving shelter for more than 70 million people who are displaced throughout the world due to war, pestilence, disease and natural disasters. For his volunteer services, Tobin has received the U.S. President Volunteer Services Award seven times. According to Tobin, ShelterBox USA Disaster Relief has received two Nobel Prizes over the past 20 years. Rotary International continues to provide strong financial support to this most vital peacekeeping organization.
