As seen in these photos from Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, no one stole the Mink (Mustela vison). But because it is nocturnal and secretive it is not seen as often as otters, bears and other wildlife. Mink can climb trees and also swim well. They require wetlands to survive. Mink eat snakes, birds, turtles, tiny fish, crayfish, rabbits and a variety of other mammals, reptiles and amphibians and insects. Synthetic fabrics for clothing have helped make trapping Mink less popular than it once was. While no one stole the Mink, Mink stoles have just about disappeared.
