Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting in Sherwood Forest neighborhood

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood, off of U.S. Highway 264, east of Washington.

According BCSO press release, deputies responded to reports of a shooting Monday morning at 116 Mansfield Road, where they found a 20-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

The victim was transported by EMS to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. His condition is currently unknown.

An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
