Hyde County Health Department Director Luana Gibbs reports three more cases of COVID-19 in Hyde County as of Friday morning. The individuals are in isolation at home and close contacts have been identified and given quarantine instructions.
This brings Hyde County’s total count of laboratory-confirmed cases to nine. Three of those cases have recovered, and six remain active. There are no current hospitalizations and no deaths to report. Gibbs continues to encourage Hyde County residents to practice the ‘3Ws’ — wear a mask, wait six feet apart and wash hands often.
Gibbs also encourages the public to get their information on COVID-19 from reliable sources, such as:
- The Centers for Disease Control at www.cdc.gov/Coronavirus;
- N.C. Division of Health and Human Services at www.ncdhhs.gov or call the N.C. Coronavirus Hotline at 1-866-462-3821;
- Hyde County Health Department at www.hydehealth.com, or call 252-926-4399.
