INSTALLED: Washington (noon) Rotary Club member Spencer Stanley (pictured left) was formally installed as Rotary International District 7720 Governor on June 28 at the Washington Yacht & Country Club. Stanley succeeds outgoing District Governor Tracey Ivie, who completed her one-year term. Stanley, who has been a significant contributor and ardent supporter of the Washington (noon) Rotary Club, will preside over 38 local Rotary clubs within District 7720. Tom Pederson (pictured right) was inducted as the club’s new president on June 29. Pederson, who succeeds Roland Wyman as club president, said he was proud of the fact that the Washington (noon) Rotary Club has produced the most number of district governors within District 7720. Besides boosting club membership, Pederson added he is hoping to increase the club’s number of special projects within Washington and the surrounding Beaufort County communities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Washington (noon) Rotary Club continues to practice social distancing by meeting “virtually” each Monday at noon.
