Justice McKinney, age 9, presented a check for $37 to Leroy Spivey (left) at the American Legion meeting on July 13. Justice worked the traffic going into and out of Edgewater Estates on the July 4 weekend, selling red, white and blue Firecracker popsicles for $1 and raising $111 for Wounded Warriors, No Kid Hungry, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Seeing all the gray hair among the Legionnaires, Justice noted proudly that his great-grandparents were Willie and Betty Davenport. The veterans group added $100 and forwarded the gift.
