Roberta J. Flynn Slade passed on the eve of Monday, July 27, 2020, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware, surrounded by her family. She was born May 29, 1937, in Pantego. She married Walter Slade, of Pantego, on Dec. 1, 1955, who survives. They enjoyed close to 65 years of marital bliss.

Also surviving are her three children, Robin, Adrian and Valencia; her four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the loves of her life. Roberta was the fourth child of Mary and Everett Flynn and has five surviving siblings: Rosa Bernell, Gene, Robert, Matricia and Marian.

She spent her adult life in Brooklyn, New York, and returned to Pantego in 1992. She loved her family immensely and was an outstanding woman of faith. She will be missed by all who knew her.
