Tornado warning issued for north central Beaufort County

The National Weather Service in Newport has issued a tornado warning for southwestern Washington County, southwestern Martin County and north central Beaufort County until 1:15 a.m.
At 12:56 a.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Yeatesville, or 12 miles east of River Road, moving northwest at 60 mph.
Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. Locations impacted include Williamston, Plymouth, Pinetown, Hinson, Yeatesville, Terra Ceia, Long Acre VFD, Jamesville, Smithwick and Dardens.
Take cover now. Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
