From Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft
Many organizations have had to execute quick thinking and change their method of operation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft is no exception. Unable to hold in-person classes, the school pivoted their Youth Summer Art Camp to at-home craft kits, with videos and instruction booklets to follow along at their own pace. The Art Camp projects included Kitchen Science with Kelly Burton, Clay Play with Rachel Breitinger and Rachel Koenig, Arts and Agriculture with Island Farm and Beth Burns, Around the World with Music with Sue Swain, and Pop-up cards with Shawn Sheehy. Kids have been working hard to create beautiful artwork, and campers want to share it with you!
As a culminating event to the Art Camp series, Pocosin Arts is excited to invite you to its first ever virtual Summer Youth Art Show using the ZOOM video platform! This will be a time for Summer Art Camp students to show off their work, meet their instructor and ask any questions. Mark your calendars for Thursday, August 6th, 2020 at 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. ET and visit www.pocosinarts.org/summerartcamp to RSVP to the event.
If you or your child have photos of artwork from the Pocosin Arts’ 2020 Summer Art Camps, please send them to michelle@pocosinarts.org to be included in the slideshow.
