Tyrrell County added two new COVID-19 cases during the past week and one recovery, Wes Gray, director of MTW District Health Department, announced Sunday night.

That brought Tyrrell’s total confirmed cases of the coronavirus to 136 with 131 recoveries, three deaths, and two active cases.

Meanwhile, Martin County reported 713 total cases since last spring, 639 recoveries, 21 deaths, and 53 active cases.

Washington County reported 280 total cases, 258 recoveries, eight deaths, and 14 active cases.

As of Nov. 4, 26.4% of Tyrrell’s inhabitants had been tested for the virus as compared with 40.5% for Martin County and 52.7% for Washington County.

North Carolina health officials are reporting 293,339 cases statewide, 4,607 deaths, and 246,318 recoveries.

The United States figures are 10.3 million cases, 243,650 deaths, and 6.5 million recoveries.

Worldwide the pandemic has touched 50.7 million individuals, caused 1.3 million deaths, and there have been 35.7 million recoveries.
