Earl Warren Freeman, known by many as Bully, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 27th, 2020. Bully was born on December 6th, 1952 and was the son of the late Julia Mae Warren Freeman and Earl Washington Freeman.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Alligood Freeman, their daughter Melissa Freeman McGahey and her husband James, two sisters: Sylvia Freeman Davis (Jerry) of Greensboro and Cheryl Freeman Buck (Frankie) of Washington. He was also survived by many of his in-laws who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister; Sandra Earle Freeman.
Bully graduated from Washington High School in 1970 and worked for V.T. Hackney and Sons for 47 years and 4 months. Bully was very proud of his work as a welder there. Bully married Teresa Alligood in 1975 and were happily married for 45 years. One might say they grew up together and experienced life to the fullest together.
Bully and Teresa were the proud parents of their daughter Melissa. She was the “joy of his life” and they worked happily together on many projects. He always said with her help, he could get anything done. Anything Bully did, he put his heart into it.
Bully and Teresa were baptized together on the same day. He loved the Lord and studied his word, always sharing with Teresa and Melissa. He wanted to make sure Melissa grew up knowing her Lord. He was often told he should be a preacher.
Bully’s family is so appreciative to their church family at First Church of Christ. Members have been so wonderful through cards, calls, love, as well as all the prayers going out for Bully. They would also like to thank all the family and friends and members from their home church, Beaver Dam Church of Christ, for all the support during this difficult time. The family wishes to offer a very special thanks to Dr. Chambrike and the nurses and staff on the ICU floor at Vidant Beaufort. All were there for him every step of the way. There is a special place in Heaven for all of you and we wish we could put into words how much we appreciate all you did for Bully and our family.
Bully loved life and appreciated truth and love. To keep his memory alive…..say good things, be kind, love others and help those in need. The World is in need of this at a time when Satan is so busy.
We are not promised tomorrow, so be ready. The Lord is coming soon and although Bully left us too soon, we know that we will be with Bully once again.
Memorial contributions may be made in Bully’s memory to the First Church of Christ, 520 E. 10th street, Washington NC 27889.
With love,
Teresa Freeman and Melissa McGahey
