Mr. Albert Gray Tyre, 90, of 5282 Holly Springs Church Road, Williamston, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at home.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Biggs Funeral Home with the Rev. Josh Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Tyre was born in Martin County on April 16, 1917. He was the son of the late James Redden Tyre and Agnes Daynor Tyre. On Feb. 14, 1940, he married Edith Hardison Tyre, who survives. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of Fairview Christian Church, where he served as an elder.
Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Tyre of Williamston; one son, Allen Gray Tyre of Williamston; two grandchilden and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 p.m. at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the home.
