The National Weather Service is expecting a line of thunderstorms to move through eastern North Carolina on Wednesday night. Areas west of U.S. Highway 17 face the highest threat of severe storms. That’s in the direction of Greenville and Kinston. Beaufort County has a “marginal” risk of severe storms. The main window for the storms is 5 p.m. to midnight. The main threat is damaging winds, but a few tornadoes or hail are possible, according to the NWS.
