Marie Wilson Anderson, 72, passed away Monday, April, 12, 2021.
In consideration of the health and welfare of everyone, especially her husband, the funeral services will be private. A video recording of her service will be available at www.wilkersonfuneralhome.com. Burial will be in Palmetto Cemetery. Marie’s casket will be open for public viewing at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Vanceboro Thursday from 1 to 5 PM.
Marie, daughter of the late Rev. William Earl and Joyce McGowan Wilson, was a native of Beaufort County and lived much of her life in the Vanceboro community.
Marie had been employed with Beaufort County Community College for a number of years prior to beginning work with Wilkerson Funeral Home of Vanceboro in 1979, where she worked for 18 years, until taking early retirement to enjoy another part of North Carolina, as she and her husband made their home in the western part of NC. They returned to Vanceboro in 2005, where they attended the Vanceboro Free Will Holiness Church and Vanceboro Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Calvin Anderson;
sons, Cliff Anderson and wife, Angel, of Mt. Airy and Ashley “Andy” Anderson of Knightdale; grandchildren, Nathan Manning, sisters, Brenda Wilson Davison of Vanceboro and Debbie Wilson Thomas of Franklin, VA; and a special niece, Gwen Braddy and her daughter, Zoey Marie.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Vanceboro Free Will Holiness Church, 423 Mill Road, Vanceboro, NC 28586; or to Vanceboro Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O.Box 572, Vanceboro, NC 28586.
