Mr. John E. Moore, 80, of 107 Heron Lane, Bath, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008.
No public service will be held.
Mr. Moore was born May 20, 1927, in Pitt County. He was the son of the former Annie Ruth Barwick and Elbert Allen Moore, who both preceded him in death. On Nov. 27, 1994, he married the former Ruby Paul. He was a graduate of Kinston High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. As a general contractor for 35 years, he was involved in many historical renovation projects. Moore was a resident of North Carolina for 25 years. He attended Bath Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Paul Moore of Bath; three sons, John A. Moore of Falls Church, Va., Mark V. Moore of Virginia Beach, Va., and Sam A. Moore of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; two daughters, Mary C. Moore of Norfolk, Va., and Janie Carlisle of Virginia Beach, Va.’; and six grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bath Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 272, Bath, N.C. 27808, or to Bath Community Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Bath, N.C. 27808.
