Lifelong resident of Washington, North Carolina, William Franklin Litchfield, passed away on October 22, 2021.
Visitation was held at Paul Funeral Home on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. Rev. Chris Adams of St. Peters’ Episcopal Church officiated the Celebration of Life at the Oakdale Cemetery on Monday, October 25th at 11 a.m. on October 25, 2021.
“Bill” age 73 attended high school at Proctor Academy in New Hampshire and attended North Carolina State University. Bill worked at Moss Planing Mill Company with his father and his brother prior to opening Washington Quick Lube where he and his beloved dog, Pal, served the community for many years.
Bill is survived by his wife, Patricia Little Litchfield, his four children and their spouses, Elizabeth Litchfield Sydnor (Syd), Sarah Litchfield Hall (Rob), William Franklin Litchfield, Jr. (Michelle) and Neill Joseph Pollock, Jr. (Missy). Bill’s grandchildren: Burton, Avery, Forbes, Sheppard, William, Mia, and Everett who adoringly referred to him as “PopPop”. He is survived by his beloved brother, Thompson Dumont Litchfield, Jr. (Martha Ann) and extended family and friends.
Bill was a philanthropist and actively involved with St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Eagle’s Wing Food Pantry, Caring Christian Carpenters, and Purpose of God Annex.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Thompson Dumont Litchfield, and Elizabeth Bowers Litchfield.
