Election Day for the 2021 municipal elections is Tuesday, Nov. 2. According to data released Monday by the Beaufort County Board of Elections, 655 people voted using the one-stop early voting option that ended Saturday, and 12 people voted by mail.

In total, 667 absentee voters have cast their ballots for this year’s election.

That number could increase as more mail-in ballots arrive. Those who chose to vote by mail but haven’t already returned their ballots cannot return their ballot to a polling location on Election Day. They must either bring the sealed ballot in its envelope to the Board of Elections office by 5 p.m. Tuesday, or they needed to arrange to mail the ballot to the Board of Elections by that same time.

Of those, 348 are registered Democrats, 181 are unaffiliated and 138 are Republicans. Additionally, 375 of those absentee voters are females, 273 are males and 19 listed their gender as undisclosed.

The vast majority of early and absentee voting participation happened in Washington. Across all precincts, 614 voters in Washington voted absentee. Bath had 20 absentee voters, Washington Park had 16, Chocowinity had eight, Belhaven had seven and Pantego had two.
