Betty Powers Jordon, 58, a resident of 604 Kinston St., Washington, N.C., died Monday, July 18, 2011 at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Born in Dare County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Noah Garland Powers Sr. and Ivy Ballance Powers and was the wife of the late David Graham Jordon Sr. She was a nurse.

Mrs. Jordon is survived by her son, David G. Jordon, Jr. of Washington, N.C.; two brothers, Henry Powers of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Noah Powers Jr. of Welden, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Miranda Angelia Strom Jordan and Charles Damian Jordan. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Benjamin Lee Jordan.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Twiford Memorial Chapel with Joey Hardison officiating. Burial will be in Koen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. and immediately following the service at the residence of Bruce Moore, 1461 Turnpike Road, Elizabeth City, N.C.
