Mr. Elton Jackson Mack Hudson, age 64, a resident of Washington, NC died Friday April 8, 2022, at his home.
Mr. Hudson was born in Durham on January 30, 1958, son of the late Noble Elton Hudson and Joyce Marvene McMillan Hudson, who survives. He was a 1976 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School in Goldsboro. On September 21, 1980, he married the former Chloe Shereen Hawk, who survives. Later in life he earned his associates degree in Electronics Engineering. He retired in February 2021 and had been a plant engineer at Liberty Fabrics in Jamesville and Flanders Filters in Washington, and a franchisee of Snap-On Tools. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting, as well as Tar Heel basketball. He also loved dogs, and eventually cats too. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and First United Methodist Church in Washington. He took pride in eastern North Carolina and the family farm in Godwin. Above all else, he found joy in his family, children, and grandchildren.
Surviving along with his wife Chloe and mother Joyce are two sons: Elton Paul Hudson (Matilda) of Stockholm, Sweden, and Benjamin Austin Hudson (Anne Spottswood) of New Bern, three brothers: Gary Michael Hudson (Allison) of Raleigh, Tony Lee Hudson (Patti) of Raleigh, and Noble Dwayne Hudson (Jodie) of Goldsboro, and five grandchildren: Lucy, William “Bill”, and Noble Hudson, and Henry and Dag Klett Hudson.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday April 16, 2022, at 350 Alvin Road, (Sampson Nursery), Godwin, NC officiated by Gregg Ferguson.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
