Fresh off an undefeated regular season and Eastern Plains Conference championship, the Washington High School boys tennis team drew the third seed in the East as the state dual team tournament begins Wednesday at home.

The Pam Pack (14-0, 10-0) hosts the 14^th seeded Jordan-Matthews Jets from Siler City, who went 8-4 overall and 5-2 in the 1A/2A Mid-Carolina Conference.

“We are glad that our seed is high enough to stay home in the tournament for the first few matches,” coach Miranda Whitley said. “We’ve had a successful season so far and will hopefully continue that in the tournament.”

The Pam Pack has depth throughout the six singles players and the three doubles teams. Freshman will Glover went 10-0 at number three singles to earn the conference Newcomer of the Year award, while top singles player Campbell Curtis, a senior, was 11-2., while sophomore Keenan Curtis was 9-1 playing number four singles. Glover and senior Hunter Moore were 8-0 at number two doubles, while freshman Micah Whitley and senior Jackson Moore were 7-0 at number three doubles.

The winner plays the winner of sixth-seeded Whiteville and number 11 East Carteret May 3^rd. The Pack is seeded to stay home until the fourth round.

Clinton in the top seed in the east, while North Johnston is the second seed.

The individual regional tournament will be Friday and Saturday at the River Birch Tennis Center in Greenville. Campbell and Keenan Curtis will complete in singles, while Glover/Moore and Whitley/Wilder qualified in doubles.
