Northside offensive lineman Landon Cahoon signed a Letter of Intent to play football for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN in the fall.
U.S. News and World Report has ranked Rose-Hulman as the top engineering school in the country for 22 straight years.
The Fightin’ Engineers won their conference title and competed in the DIII playoffs last season.
“It was my first choice all along and it’s really exciting to combine football and academics there,” Cahoon said. “it’s a small school and it felt a little like Northside when we visited. I’ll have to do some shopping for winter clothes, no more hoodies and shorts. The other offensive linemen told me they don’t wear sleeves for games, so that will be something different.”
Cahoon will major in computer engineering and report for fall football camp August 9.
He was named third-team All-State as an offensive tackle after helping the Panthers to the 1A state championship game as a junior and to the fourth round as a senior.
“Playing for the state championship junior year and beating Southside for the Anchor Bowl all four years are my favorite memories,” Cahoon said. “I really enjoyed my coaches and teammates and I’m happy I get to keep playing
